01

Who this is for.

Marketplaces suit physical products with established demand, where buyers search by category rather than brand. If people are already typing what you sell into a marketplace search bar, being present and well presented matters more than clever positioning. This work fits brands with dozens to thousands of listings and nobody whose actual job is maintaining them, and brands who launched on one marketplace opportunistically and never structured it. It is a weak fit for products with thin margins after referral and fulfilment fees, since those fees are deducted before any advertising is paid for and the maths often does not survive. It is also a weak fit where you are unwilling to share the marketplace account, because listing and advertising work cannot be done from the outside. We will run a fee and margin check during scoping and tell you if the channel cannot pay for itself. What makes marketplace work different from running your own store is that you control almost none of the environment. The platform sets the layout, decides what content is permitted, ranks you against sellers you cannot see, and can suppress a listing overnight for a data problem nobody was told about. The response is operational discipline rather than cleverness: accurate attributes, correctly related variations, complete compliance information and stock levels that match reality. Most of the recoverable value in a neglected account is in that unglamorous half. Orphaned variations that split reviews across duplicate listings, missing attributes that exclude you from filtered searches, and advertising quietly funding search terms with no purchase intent are all common and all fixable without a single new creative asset. We work through them before proposing anything more ambitious. Inventory discipline is the other requirement, and it is yours rather than ours. Advertising an item that goes out of stock wastes budget immediately and can damage the listing's standing, so we need a reliable contact for stock and pricing decisions. Where that contact does not exist, the programme spends part of its budget on products it cannot fulfil.

02

What we manage.

The disciplines below are the operational surface of a marketplace. Most of the recoverable value in a neglected account sits in the unglamorous half — variations, attributes, suppressed listings and negative keywords — rather than in new creative.

  • Listing operations

Titles, bullets, attributes and variation relationships kept accurate, with suppressed or incomplete listings identified and corrected rather than left dormant.

  • Enhanced content

The richer product modules each platform permits, built to answer the questions that otherwise arrive as returns or negative reviews.

  • Storefront

A branded shop presence organised around how customers actually browse your range, rather than mirroring your internal category structure.

  • Advertising management

Sponsored placements managed on a flat scope-based fee, with continuous search term review so budget stops reaching queries with no purchase intent.

  • Margin-aware targets

Advertising goals set after referral and fulfilment fees are deducted, so a campaign is judged on contribution rather than gross marketplace revenue.

  • Compliant review support

Review solicitation only through each platform's own permitted mechanisms. We will not use incentivised or off-platform tactics that risk your account.

03

What we need from you.

Marketplace work stalls on access and product data more often than on strategy. The items below are what make the difference between a programme that ships changes weekly and one that waits on approvals. None of it is unusual, but marketplace platforms enforce their own data requirements strictly, so a missing compliance document or an unconfirmed dimension can hold a listing back regardless of how good the content around it is. We go through this list during scoping and tell you which items we can work around and which will genuinely block progress until someone inside your business supplies them.

  • User-level access to your marketplace seller or vendor account with the permissions the work requires.
  • Accurate product data: dimensions, materials, compliance information and current stock reality.
  • Your fee structure and landed cost per unit, so advertising targets are set against real margin.
  • Product imagery meeting each platform's technical requirements, or agreement that we produce it.
  • A named contact for stock and pricing decisions, since advertising on out-of-stock items wastes budget immediately.

One marketplace or several.

Expanding to another marketplace is frequently proposed before the first one is properly run, and it rarely pays. The comparison below is the framing we use when clients ask whether to add a channel or deepen the one they have.

Scope and packages.

Two monthly packages plus a custom tier. One Marketplace covers a single platform end to end and is where most brands should begin. Marketplace Growth adds content depth, storefront work and a larger advertising scope. Multi-Marketplace Operations is quoted on scope where several platforms run together. What moves the number is how many marketplaces are managed, your SKU and variation count, the listing and enhanced content workload, storefront creative requirements, and the review support and advertising scope. Marketplace referral and fulfilment fees plus advertising media spend are charged by the platform to you directly.

$1,500 – $3,000 per monthReferral, fulfilment and advertising costs charged by the platform. Multi-platform scope quoted separately.

Questions we get asked.

Marketplace questions tend to be practical rather than strategic. These are the ones that come up before every engagement.

We need user-level access with the permissions the work requires, granted through the platform's own user management. You keep ownership of the account and can revoke access at any time. Work cannot be done from outside the account, so read-only access is not workable.

Deliverables.

  • Listing audit identifying suppressed, incomplete and orphaned variations
  • Titles, bullets and attributes corrected across the catalogue in scope
  • Enhanced content modules built where the platform permits them
  • Storefront sections organised by how customers browse the range
  • Advertising management with ongoing search term and negative keyword work
  • Monthly reporting on sales, advertising cost of sale and listing health
