A headshot session is short, structured and surprisingly technical: two lighting setups, a handful of wardrobe changes, and a proof gallery you choose from the same week. Nobody leaves with 400 near-identical frames to sort alone.
Sessions start on the hour between 9 AM and 4 PM. Arrive fifteen minutes early if you want to change or settle hair and makeup at the studio.
We shoot a few throwaway frames while we talk, mostly to get the shoulders down. Almost nobody's first three frames are usable and that is expected.
Two lighting setups, two or three wardrobe looks, tethered to a monitor you can see. We review together every fifteen minutes rather than at the end.
We star the strongest frames on the spot, so the proof gallery arrives already ordered by what worked in the room.
Proofs land within 48 hours, and your retouched finals follow within five business days of you sending the selects back.
Sleep matters more than makeup. Book a morning slot if you can, skip a heavy workout the hour before, and drink water — retouching can soften a shadow but it cannot put light back in tired eyes.
One person, two setups, three shirts: 84 proofs, six retouched finals, eighteen crops and two black-and-white conversions delivered in four business days.
Ninety minutes covering studio and window light: 110 proofs, eight finals, plus a press-resolution vertical for jacket copy at 8 by 10 inch print size.
Individual portraits plus paired frames in one two-hour block: 140 proofs, twelve finals and four joint shots for the about page and investor deck.
Proofs are with you inside 48 hours of the session, and retouched finals follow five business days after you return your selects — the clock genuinely starts with your choices, not with the shoot. If a press deadline is closer than that, a same-week single-image retouch is available for a flat fee. Additional finals beyond the included count can be ordered from the proof gallery at any point in the twelve months we keep it live.
Portraits are licensed to you personally, in perpetuity, for professional and personal use: LinkedIn, your firm's site, conference programmes, press coverage and book jackets. Your employer may use the frames for as long as you work there, and that right is written into the delivery note so nobody has to negotiate it later. We do not sell or licence a personal portrait to any third party, and we ask permission before showing one in our own portfolio.
